ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Defence Minister Khawaja Asif strongly reacted to Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan’s interview published in the Indian media, calling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) “desperate for power”.

During her interview with journalist Yalda Hakim at Sky News, Aleem Khan termed COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir a radicalised Islamist, an Islamic conservative. “This is the reason why he yearns for a war with India,” she claimed.

Reacting to her statement, Asif said, “Love for Pakistan and its soil, readiness to sacrifice for the glory of religion—if that makes one a radical Islamist and Islamic conservative, then this label adorns the forehead of 250 million Pakistanis.”

Defence Minister further added that six months ago, under this same Asim Munir and the leadership of the Air Force and Navy, “we slapped India in the face by the grace of Allah.”

“The matter of 7 planes was mentioned by President Trump 61 times, which has shaken Modi’s soul,” the minister said.

He further stated that the sewing machines are closed, which is why they are upset and “taking refuge in the Indian media.”

Asif urged PTI to “fight Pakistan’s political battles in Pakistan and don’t engage in enmity against the homeland while sitting in the lap of the enemy and demonstrate tolerance.”

“The war that this respected lady is talking about—if India imposes it on us again, God willing, we will settle this with India as well,” he lamented Khan’s sister.
