MALE (Kashmir English): Pakistan continued its impressive run in the ongoing Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship in the Maldives and made it to the semi-finals.
Pakistan played two matches on Saturday in the Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship.
In the first match, it defeated South Africa 2-0. Pakistan’s Kashif Ali played brilliantly and scored 18 points, and was declared the best player of the match.
After winning the first set 15-24, Pakistan showed more aggressive play in the second set and won 5-28.
Pakistan also maintained its supremacy against Bangladesh in the evening and won the match 0-2 to secure the first position in the league stage.
Muhammad Shahid Bashir showed an excellent performance with 18 points, Ahmed Hassan Baig scored 12, and Hazrat Hussain scored 4 points. Pakistan won the match 9-30 and 13-32.
Shahid Bashir was declared the best player of the match.
With these victories, Pakistan finished the league stage on a high, having previously defeated India, Sri Lanka, and the host Maldives.
