MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muzaffarabad has instructed the police force to ensure foolproof security arrangements on the occasion of Independence Day in the capital city of Azad Kashmir.
District Police Muzaffarabad spokesperson said that SSP Muzaffarabad has directed the SDPOs/SHOs to take necessary measures to maintain law and order, traffic flow, and public safety.
SSP has ordered police officers to take action against one-wheeling and workshops that manufacture motorcycles for this purpose. Vehicles and motorcycles with non-standard and fancy number plates will be targeted, the spokesperson said.
In addition to that, personnel will be deployed at recreational places and markets to maintain public safety.
Furthermore, SSP Muzaffarabad has ordered that an effective crackdown should be taken against law-breaking elements, including those involved in drug consumption, gambling, rioting, firing in the air, and setting off fireworks.
He further ordered to tighten the checking and verification at entry points, and a close watch will be kept on suspicious persons.
The records of passengers staying in hotels, inns, and rest houses will be checked, and owners will be required to register passenger records on the Hotel i-App, the spokesperson said.
He said that the Muzaffarabad Police is taking all possible steps to protect the lives and property of citizens.
Police officials requested parents to keep their children away from illegal activities, and the police will work to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration of Independence Day.
