ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the understanding reached between the US and Iran, calling it a success of diplomacy and negotiations.

In a statement released on social media platform X, Ishaq Dar said that this important progress achieved between the US and the Islamic Republic of Iran is a reflection of continued diplomatic engagement and the determination of friendly countries to adopt the path of dialogue instead of conflict and confrontation.

He said that this progress is an encouraging message to the international community and will provide much-needed confidence and stability to global markets and the global economy, especially to those developing countries that are most affected by regional instability.

The Foreign Minister said that throughout this process, Pakistan remained in active communication with all relevant parties and continued to support restraint, constructive engagement and negotiations.

He said that Pakistan has always maintained that a lasting solution to all problems is possible only through dialogue and diplomacy.

Ishaq Dar appreciated the trust reposed in Pakistan by the leadership of the US and Iran and commended both countries for their commitment to remain in touch to achieve a peaceful and negotiated solution.

He also paid tribute to the diplomatic efforts of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkiye, Egypt, and other brotherly countries, as well as the United Nations and international partners, who played a key role in achieving this important breakthrough.

The Foreign Minister said that Pakistan is ready to provide all possible support to further consolidate this progress while negotiations on the pending issues continue.

He expressed the hope that the formal signing ceremony to be held in Geneva on June 19 will further strengthen this positive progress and pave the way for lasting peace, stability and shared prosperity in the region and the world as a whole.
