DASHT (Kashmir English): Security forces have arrested 58 Afghan nationals, including women and children, during an operation in the Mirani area of Dasht,  in southern Balochistan, officials said.

According to security sources, the operation was conducted to prevent an alleged human trafficking attempt involving Afghan nationals who were reportedly being facilitated to travel onward through Pakistan.

The arrested individuals included women and children, the sources said.

Officials said a significant number of Afghan nationals leave Afghanistan due to economic, social and other difficulties and may become vulnerable to human traffickers seeking to move them through Pakistan towards Iran, Turkey and European countries.

Security forces are continuously conducting operations to prevent human trafficking, sources said. All the arrested Afghans will be handed over to the police for further legal action, they added.
