CALIFORNIA (Kashmir English): WhatsApp has introduced 3 new features to make group chats more organized and easier to use.

The new features are aimed at helping Android and iPhone users better organize busy group conversations.

The most important feature introduced by WhatsApp is the @all mention, through which the group admin or authorized user can send a notification to all members at once through a single tag, eliminating the need to tag each member separately.

This feature is specifically designed to instantly notify all members of office announcements, event reminders, important deadlines, or last-minute schedule changes.

Interestingly, even if a user has muted the group, he can still receive a notification in the form of an @all mention so that no important message is overlooked.

However, users who do not want such notifications can also turn them off separately by going to the app’s notification settings.

To prevent misuse of this feature in large groups, WhatsApp has limited the @all mention feature to group admins in groups with more than 32 members.

Meta-owned WhatsApp has also introduced 3 important improvements to the polls feature. Now users will be able to set an end time for the poll, after which voting will automatically close.

In addition, users will also get the option to keep the identity of voters anonymous, which will make it possible to get more impartial and private opinions in group discussions.

Create a Similar Group Feature

WhatsApp has also introduced another useful feature, ‘Create a Similar Group,’ through which users will be able to create a new group in a few moments based on the members of an existing group.

This feature will make it easier than ever to separate project teams, create new groups for private planning, or move unrelated conversations to separate chats.

According to WhatsApp, all these new features are being rolled out to Android and iPhone users around the world in phases.

The company says that like other updates, these features may take some time to reach all users, so if a user does not see these features immediately, they will have to wait for some time after installing the latest WhatsApp update.
