ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan has emerged as one of the world’s biggest social media markets, with 100 million TikTok users and 96 million YouTube users.
According to figures shared by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) before the National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology on Tuesday, around 100 million Pakistanis use TikTok, while as many as 150 million watch and upload videos on the platform.

YouTube currently has 96 million users in Pakistan and generates approximately 560 million views daily.
PTA Chairman Hafeez-ur-Rehman presented the figures during a National Assembly Standing Committee. The briefing also highlighted massive daily activity on WhatsApp, even as lawmakers criticised what they called poor quality of mobile and internet services across the country.
The PTA chairman told the committee that the country ranks among the world’s leading countries in terms of YouTube video viewership.
He said WhatsApp has around 100 million users in the country, while Pakistanis make approximately one billion calls and send 12 billion messages through the messaging platform every day.
