Spain inflicts total destruction on Saudi Arabia at FIFA World Cup
ATLANTA (Kashmir English): Spain defeated Saudi Arabia 4-0 in their Group H fixture at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.
Following a goalless draw against Cape Verde in their opener, Spain aggressively dominated the match at the Atlanta Stadium.
Lamine Yamal scored the first goal in the 10th Minute, becoming only the second player aged 18 or under to open the scoring in a World Cup match.
Then came Mikel Oyarzabal to score a rapid-fire double to put Spain firmly in control before the break.
In the 49th minute, a nightmare clearance from Hassan Altambakti resulted in an own goal, extending Spain’s lead to 4-0.
Ball possession describes the whole story as Spain held the ball for 65% of the total time while Saudi Arabia could keep ball possession for 35% of the total time.
FIFA World Cup Group H position
With Sunday’s win, Spain has temporarily claimed the top spot in Group H with two teams of the same group Uruguay and Cape Verde to play late in the evening.
The match kicks off in Pakistan at 3:00 AM on Monday, June 22, 2026 (late Sunday night). The highly anticipated Group H clash takes place at the Miami Stadium in Florida, USA.
