RIYADH (Kashmir English): Saudi Arabia has started processing visa applications for the new Umrah season.

According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the arrival of Umrah pilgrims from all over the world to Saudi Arabia began on Sunday, following the conclusion of Hajj season 2026.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated that the issuance of Umrah visas during the new Umrah season will continue until March 9, 2027, which corresponds to 1 Shawwal 1448 Hijri. After this date, Umrah visas will not be issued.

International pilgrims will be able to enter Saudi Arabia until March 23, 2027, while all Umrah pilgrims must depart from the Kingdom by April 7, 2027.

Umrah pilgrims

According to officials, Umrah pilgrims can now obtain entry and Umrah permits for Makkah through the Saudi government’s “Nusuk” application.

This platform serves as a central digital system for permits, bookings, guidance, and other services related to Umrah and Hajj.

Saudi Arabia has rapidly promoted digital systems in Umrah services over the past few years.

Modern systems such as electronic permits, automated contractual procedures, and QR code verification have been introduced through the Nusuk platform to provide pilgrims with more convenient and organised facilities.

Under Vision 2030, the Saudi government is also working on projects for accommodation, transportation, and other basic facilities to further improve the Umrah and Hajj sectors.

According to officials, these measures are meant to provide better services to the increasing number of pilgrims in the future and to make their journey easier.
