ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistani players continue to shine brilliantly in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026.
In Qualifier 1, thanks to the magical bowling of national team stars Shadab Khan and Sufiyan Muqeem, the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons secured a spot in the final after a one-sided contest that left the Guyana Amazon Warriors in deep trouble.
During the match, national all-rounder Shadab Khan created a sensation by claiming a magnificent hat-trick. He dismissed three dangerous opposing batters, Shimron Hetmyer, Mehidy Hasan, and Quinten Sampson—on consecutive deliveries.
Shadab Khan broke the back of the opposition’s batting lineup by taking 4 wickets for just 16 runs. Meanwhile, young spinner Sufiyan Muqeem provided excellent support to Shadab, wreaking havoc on the opposing team. Bowling with great economy, Sufiyan claimed 4 crucial wickets while conceding only 13 runs.
Thanks to this devastating performance by the Pakistani bowlers, the Guyana Amazon Warriors’ batting order crumbled like a house of cards, and the entire team could only set a modest target of 77 runs for Antigua to win.
In response, the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons began their chase with an aggressive approach. The Falcons thrillingly achieved the target in just 5.2 overs for the loss of a single wicket, thereby booking their place in the final.
