MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Department of School Education in Azad Jammu and Kashmir has directed all schools across the region to remain open five days a week, ending any uncertainty over the weekly working schedule for educational institutions.
According to the department’s directives, schools will continue their academic activities from Monday to Friday, while the remaining two days of the week will constitute the weekly break.
Separately, the Department of Higher Education, AJK, has issued an order introducing a five-day working week for all public and private colleges across Azad Kashmir.
The directive applies to colleges operating under the jurisdiction of the Higher Education Department and requires them to follow the revised weekly schedule.
The move is aimed at bringing greater uniformity to the working arrangements of educational institutions across the region while ensuring that academic activities continue according to the prescribed schedule.
Students, teachers and administrative staff at schools and colleges will now follow the five-day weekly working arrangement under the respective departmental orders.
