NEW YORK CITY (Kashmir English): A 90-year-old US man has completed the New York City Marathon, finishing his sixth race alongside his son and grandson after a 43-year break from marathon running.
Proving that age is no barrier to ambition, Marty Granoff crossed the finish line in eight hours and 26 minutes, accompanied by three generations of his family.
His son Michael and grandson Avi joined him for the 26.2-mile challenge, helping him complete the course.
The New York City Marathon is one of the world’s largest annual running events that covers 26.2 miles across all five boroughs of the city.
The 2026 event brought together nearly 60,000 runners, making Marty Granoff’s finish among the memorable moments of the running.
The aged US man made the race even more memorable by wearing a T-shirt carrying a playful message saying “If you can read this, you are losing to a 90-year-old man.”
