OMAN (Kashmir English): The Pakistani embassies worldwide suspended their passport services because a technical problem at their central Islamabad office prevents them from providing services to Pakistani citizens living abroad.

The Pakistani Embassy in Muscat announced through Facebook that passport services for the Pakistani community in Oman will remain suspended until they provide another update.

The embassy advised applicants to stay updated through its official social media channels regarding the resumption of services. The disruption stems from a technical fault at the passport headquarters in Islamabad, which has affected operations across all Pakistani foreign missions.

Officials have not released an expected time for service restoration because they need to address the problems that online citizens face in foreign countries.

Pakistan Embassy in Saudi Arabia Suspends Passport Services

Earlier,  the Pakistan Embassy in Saudi Arabia announced a temporary suspension of passport-related services due to technical maintenance work.

The official update states that all passport services at the Embassy will remain closed from Wednesday through Thursday on the dates of 29–30 April 2026.

The mission will not permit applicants to apply for new passports, renew their existing passports, or pick up their already finished documents during this time.

The Embassy confirmed that their decision requires maintenance work to proceed, and they will restart operations after the technical work finishes. Pakistani nationals in Saudi Arabia, particularly in Riyadh and surrounding regions, are advised to plan their visits accordingly and avoid unnecessary travel to the Embassy on the affected days.

The officials advised citizens to monitor the Embassy’s official channels for updates because consular counters will face heavy traffic after services start again. The organization will announce the reopening schedule after the completion of maintenance work.
