ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Citizens no longer need to worry if their fingerprints have faded, as NADRA has introduced an effective alternative technology to address this issue.
Speaking to the media, a NADRA spokesperson explained that the authority had received numerous complaints from citizens regarding faded fingerprints.
Challenges in Fingerprint Identification
The spokesperson announced the launch of facial recognition software for citizens facing difficulties with fingerprint identification; those without readable fingerprints can now proceed using facial recognition.
This modern system enables individuals—whose fingerprints are either missing or cannot be detected by biometric machines—to easily complete the identification process.
The primary objective of this new facility is to provide a practical solution for citizens whose fingerprints could not be accurately captured by biometric devices for various reasons.

Resolving issues faced at banks
Officials stated that some citizens previously faced significant difficulties at various institutions—particularly banks—due to the absence of readable fingerprints or the failure of biometric devices to accurately verify their identity. The newly introduced facility provides a secure alternative method for identity verification for individuals who face challenges related to fingerprinting.
This measure will help significantly reduce the problems encountered during biometric verification at banks and other relevant institutions, addressing challenges often caused by technical issues with biometric devices used in the banking and telecommunications sectors.
