SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for blatant hypocrisy in his international rhetoric and domestic actions, particularly in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and against minorities in India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas said Modi continues to speak against terrorism on the world stage, yet enacts state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and supports aggressive policies against Pakistan.
“Modi’s anti-terror rhetoric abroad sharply contrasts with the terror unleashed on innocent Kashmiris through raids, detentions, and enforced disappearances,” he said.
The spokesman further pointed out that while Modi lectures the global community on democracy and peace, he brutally silences dissent at home and enforces authoritarian measures in IIOJK.
Modi a silencer of dissent
“Modi is a champion of democracy in speeches, but a silencer of dissent in practice,” the APHC spokesman remarked.
Minhas also criticized Modi’s silence on hate speech and open calls for genocide against Muslims in India, saying this silence amounts to tacit approval.
“Modi’s failure to condemn hate crimes and growing violence against Muslims exposes the real face of his regime,” he added.
APHC spokesman said the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir are not deceived by Modi’s double standards and remain steadfast in their just struggle for right to self-determination as promised by the United Nations.
