BHIMBER (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Iftikhar Gilani on Monday said that the implementation of the government’s 100-day plan will be ensured to improve overall governance and service delivery and address public grievances.
PM Gilani made these remarks while speaking at a meeting along with the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, in Bhimber.
Upon his arrival, a contingent of police presented him with a guard of honor. He was also given a grand welcome at the Jatlan entry point, Dheri Watan, and Bab e Kashmir bridge by PML-N workers.
The PM was accompanied by government ministers including Col Waqar Ahmed Noor, Saqib Majeed, Advocate Umair Naeem, former government minister Mushtaq Minhas, Chaudhry Mohsin Aziz, members of the executive council and others.
The Prime Minister chaired a meeting in Bhimber, where he reviewed in detail the performance of various departments, including education, health, electricity, roads, and others.
The Prime Minister reiterated that his government’s top priority was to provide relief to the common man and resolve public problems at their doorsteps.
He specifically issued directives asking the officers to keep the doors of government offices open to the public, treat visitors with courtesy, and listen to and address their problems on a priority basis.
Gilani said governance, institutional performance, quality of public facilities, and service delivery were among the government’s key priorities. He urged the government machinery to play its full role in implementing government policies and its public welfare agenda.
On this occasion, officers of concerned departments briefed the Prime Minister on ongoing development projects and their progress. The PM directed the authorities to ensure timely completion of projects, resolve public problems, and make effective use of available resources.
AJK PM inspects Daanish School
During his visit, the premier also inspected the under-construction Daanish School in Bhimber. Gillani was given a comprehensive briefing on the project.
He was informed that 86 percent of the construction work had been completed and the teaching process would begin by next February.
Talking on the occasion, the premier said that the establishment of the Danish School System in AJK is a landmark initiative for promoting quality education, saying it would go a long way towards providing better educational opportunities to children across the state.
He expressed his profound gratitude to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, for establishing five Daanish Schools in AJK.
The government would continue taking steps to further improve the education sector in order to provide quality educational facilities to the younger generation.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the incumbent Speaker Chaudhry Tariq Farooq for his significant contribution to the establishment of the Danish School in Bhimber.
He also sought timely resolution of the problems of the population living adjacent to the school and directed the concerned authorities to assess their needs and take necessary steps to resolve them.
