JEONJU, South Korea (Kashmir English): The green shirts proved their dominance yet again as they crushed Japan 79-39 on Monday at the Asian Youth Netball Championship in South Korea.
It was the fourth consecutive victory for Pakistan, who now lead Pool B with 8 points.
Pakistan were 16-9 in the first quarter before extending their lead to 39-17 by halftime.
The score rose to 60-26 in the third quarter, with the women cruising to victory by 79-39 at the end of the game.
Leya Raza Shah, Jasmine Farooq, Haleema, Sarina Hussain, Farah Rasheed, Alisha Naveed, Amani, Parisa, Sumayya Ahmed and Alina played exceptional roles in winning the game.
Pakistan will face Maldives today
Pakistan will now play Maldives today (Tuesday) as the team is set to play five league matches in the group stage.
The Championship features a total of 11 participating teams and is being played under the supervision of the Asian Netball Federation.
The teams are divided into two groups. Group A includes Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and India.
While Group B consists of Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Japan, Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
On Sunday, Pakistan crushed hosts South Korea 91-6. The side opened the tournament with a strong 71-15 over Saudi Arabia on Friday, followed by a 56-32 victory over Chinese Taipei on Saturday.
The tournament is being played from June 27 to July 4 at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in South Korea.
