ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar has said that the Indian intelligence agency lured a Pakistani fisherman into working for them by offering him money.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry held a joint press conference in Islamabad.
Atta Tarar said that after the failure of Operation Sindoor, India has started a false information and misleading campaign against Pakistan.
He revealed that Indian intelligence agencies arrested a Pakistani fisherman named Ijaz Mallah and sent him to Pakistan on a secret mission.
When he was trying to buy Army, Navy, and Rangers uniforms, Pakistani agencies monitored and arrested him.
In the press conference, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said that this is an Indian propaganda operation that has been exposed.
Ijaz Mallah was arrested by the Indian Coast Guard in September and was lured with money, he added.
According to Atta Tarar, Ijaz Mallah has confessed to all the facts after being arrested. During the press conference, the Information Minister also showed the confessional video statement of Ijaz Mallah to the media.
Ijaz Mallah said in his statement that “We went fishing when India arrested us. There, the intelligence agency officials said that you have to bring Army, Navy, and Rangers uniforms, Zong Sim, Pakistani cigarettes, and currency.”
The arrested fisherman said he was set free by the Indian authorities, after which he came back to Pakistan and collected the set items.
The Pakistani fisherman claimed he sent a picture of those items to an Indian intelligence officer named Ashok Kumar.
“After that, I headed towards the sea in October but was arrested by Pakistani security and other individuals with them,” Mallah said.
Atta Tarar said that India is not able to digest the victory in the battle and is continuously trying to defame Pakistan through negative propaganda, but the facts will soon be brought before the public.
