Three school holidays announced in Punjab district

NANKANA SAHIB: The Nankana Sahib district administration has announced three-day school holidays in all government and private educational institutions in connection with the 556th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

A spokesperson for the district administration said that all government schools and private schools will remain closed from November 4 to 6, while academic activities at Baba Guru Nanak University will be suspended from November 3 to 6.

The administration said that all 24 government schools and private institutions in Nankana Sahib will remain closed.

The administration has also decided to keep the city’s colleges closed during the celebrations to facilitate security and arrangements.

CEO Education Shazia Bano and the university administration have issued a formal notification to keep the institutions closed.

It should be noted that thousands of Sikh pilgrims from different countries, including India, will reach Nankana Sahib to participate in the birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

On the other hand, the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued visas to 2,100 Sikh pilgrims from India to attend the event.

During their visit, the Sikh pilgrims will visit Gurdwara Janm Asthan in Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal, and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Narowal.
