ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has clarified that passport fee payments will now only be accepted through the designated Raast QR code.
According to a statement issued by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, applicants will not be able to pay passport fees through IBFT using an IBAN or via the “Asaan” passport fee service, which generates a PSID.
The department has urged all passport applicants to ensure that fees are paid exclusively through the designated Raast QR code to avoid payment-related issues during the passport application process.
The development follows efforts by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports to simplify and modernize the cashless passport fee payment system.
In August 2026, Director General of Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa visited Passport Headquarters, where he reviewed the cashless payment mechanism and personally tested the system by paying a passport fee through the QR code.
Randhawa expressed satisfaction with the performance of the digital and cashless payment system and directed officials to make the process simpler, faster, and more user-friendly.
He stressed that the modern payment mechanism should reduce inconvenience for citizens and help eliminate long queues at passport offices.
The Directorate General has reiterated its instructions regarding the exclusive use of the designated Raast QR code for passport fee payments and advised applicants to follow the prescribed payment method carefully.
