MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Friday set a hearing for 19 consolidated appeals challenging the High Court’s decision to abolish the quota system in government jobs and colleges.
A full court bench headed by the Supreme Court Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram will hear all appeals together on November 3.
The appeals challenge a High Court ruling that ordered the abolition of the quota system and directed that government appointments and college admissions be made on open merit.
During the hearing, the Supreme Court will examine the legal questions surrounding the abolition of the quota system.
