MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The government sources have denied all the claims circulating that the authorities have contacted the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) on the orders of Field Marshal Asim Munir.

The government sources further stated that the Field Marshal has not given any orders to contact the banned JAAC, nor does he have time to talk to people who are disrupting law and order in Azad Kashmir.

By using the Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Syed Qamar Raza’s name, the Awami Action Committee is trying to cover up the fact that the people have completely rejected them, government sources said.

The authorities have made it clear that there will be no talk or negotiations with him. The banned JAAC is trying to hide the fact that people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have rejected their stance, due to which they had canceled the long March.

Qamar Raza’s Stance

Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Syed Qamar Raza has strongly denied claims by the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) that he was appointed by Field Marshal Asim Munir as a special representative to negotiate with the organisation.

In a statement, Qamar Raza dismissed the claim as false propaganda, saying the Field Marshal neither asked him to contact the banned Action Committee nor had any involvement in such negotiations.

His statement came in response to an announcement issued by JAAC today, which claimed it had sent a detailed letter to the Field Marshal on July 13 regarding the prevailing situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

According to JAAC, the letter was received on July 14, after which the Field Marshal allegedly appointed Qamar Raza, Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, as his special representative to engage with the committee.

JAAC had further claimed that a detailed meeting was held with Qamar Raza on July 15, during which he requested the committee to suspend its proposed long march and assured that its demands would be addressed through dialogue.

The committee said it had subsequently suspended the long march on the assurance of the Field Marshal’s designated Special Representative, while continuing its ongoing peaceful protests.

“However, all the peaceful protests already underway will continue. We request our proud people, women, children, and elders to keep the protests peaceful,” the statement concluded.
