ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): NADRA has provided the facility to book an appointment at any of its offices at the desired time from home through the Pak ID mobile app.
According to the details, by using this facility, citizens can come a little earlier than their scheduled time and avail services without waiting for their turn.
NADRA has recently released a new version of the Pak ID mobile app, in which new facilities ranging from FIA complaints to digital identification have been added.
In this regard, NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali said in a video message that several important features have been introduced in the said app for citizens, including the ability to file online complaints with the FIA, correct family records, upload signatures, and a digital facility for identity documents.
All NADRA centers to offer e-passport facility from September 7
The facility to make e-passports will be available at all National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) centers from September 7, according to the spokesperson.
Citizens will be able to renew and reprint e-passports from NADRA centers across Pakistan, including Karachi.
The issuance, replacement, and issuance of new e-passports will be done from passport offices, as per the spokesperson.
The passport counters in NADRA offices will be gradually eliminated, and the staff will be recalled.
This facility will be provided at NADRA centers under an agreement between the Passport Department and NADRA.
The Spokesperson added that the modern e-passport will have an electronic chip installed, which will store the biometric and personal data of the holder, and will be in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization.
The e-passport will include an NFC chip, laser engraving, and infrared and ultraviolet security features, which will make the identification and verification process at airports more secure and faster.
