ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the decision regarding the creation of new provinces should be left to the people, allowing them to determine what kind of administrative system they want.

Speaking to Azad Digital, Naqvi said overseas Pakistanis were closely observing governance systems in other countries and wanted to see similar leadership and governance models in Pakistan.

“Let the people decide what they want regarding new provinces,” Naqvi said.

Expressing his desire for improved leadership and governance in Pakistan, the interior minister said he wished to see many leaders like London Mayor Sadiq Khan, New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emerge in the country.

“I wish there were many Sadiq Khans, many Mamdanis and many Erdogans,” Naqvi said.

He maintained that the people should have the right to decide the future administrative structure of the country according to their aspirations and needs.
