LAHORE (Kashmir English): “Mitti De Baway,” the biggest and highest-budget drama serial of 2026, is set to premiere on September 23rd.
Written by Faiza Iftikhar and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain, this drama marks the spectacular return of superstar Mahira Khan to the television screen, while renowned actor Wahaj Ali will appear for the first time in a unique and intense action-oriented role.
This mega-project features a stellar cast of Pakistan’s drama industry’s most distinguished and seasoned artists, including Mahira Khan, Wahaj Ali, Sohail Ahmed, Amar Khan, Hina Afridi, Uzma Hassan, Junaid Khan, Aina Khan, Fazal Hussain, and Noor-ul-Hassan.
After being occupied with film projects, Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan is returning to television with this drama.
She portrays “Ballo,” a highly compelling and serious character. The launch of this major drama coincides with news of the arrival of her second child in real life.
Actor Wahaj Ali plays the role of “Bala,” a ruthless and fiercely volatile action character. He has undergone rigorous training and bodybuilding to embody this persona.
Legendary Pakistani actor Sohail Ahmed will appear in “Mitti De Baway” in a negative yet influential role, reminiscent of his past masterpiece,
“Aloo Baray Farokht Nahin.” In the drama, he is the one who steers Wahaj Ali’s character onto a path of violence.
Set against a rural Punjabi backdrop, the drama features Amar Khan playing a strong and emotionally resonant Punjabi character.
Hina Afridi, known for her innocent acting style, will appear in a pivotal and distinct role in this drama following her work in Ghulam, Badshah aur Sundari.
Uzma Hassan, who garnered acclaim for her powerful performance in the drama Khaie, is once again collaborating with director Syed Wajahat Hussain on this serious project.
After successfully portraying lead roles in various dramas, Junaid Khan will be seen tackling a complex and challenging character this time around.
Rising actress Aina Khan plays the younger version of Mahira Khan’s character, portraying her during childhood or youth, a phase where the story’s central conflict originates.
