NOGAYA (Kashmir English): Pakistan made a winning start to their hockey campaign at the Asian Games in Japan by defeating Thailand 9-0.
In the Group B match, Pakistan played aggressively from the outset, maintaining constant pressure on Thailand’s defense.
The national team delivered a stellar performance, scoring a total of nine goals, while Thailand failed to score any.
With this victory, Pakistan successfully launched its Group B campaign. The group also includes teams from Malaysia, China, Oman, Uzbekistan, and Thailand.
Pakistan’s next match is against Uzbekistan on September 22, followed by group matches against China on September 24, Malaysia on September 26, and Oman on September 28.
The Asian Games hockey competition is currently underway in Japan, where the national team is aiming to secure a spot in the next round following a strong performance in the group stage.
