NEW YORK (Kashmir English): American film and television actor Giancarlo Esposito, who played the character of “Gus Fring” in the hit Netflix series Breaking Bad, has adopted Islam during his trip to Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Gazette stated on Wednesday.
“The 65-year-old actor performed the Shahada while in the Kingdom,” the report added. Esposito was spotted with a production crew as he joined them for prayers in a mosque during film activities at one of the Kingdom’s religious sites.
According to the publication, Esposito’s visit to Saudi Arabia and his acquaintance with its people helped him form a positive perception.

The veteran Hollywood actor has taken on notable roles in other hit shows such as ‘Better Call Saul’ and ‘The Mandalorian’. The actor has so far not made any formal statement confirming his new faith.
In recent years, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has considerably developed its local film and entertainment industry, attracting several film production houses and stars from Hollywood.
