RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): The protest call given by the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) in Rawalakot city of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has failed miserably.

After the public rejection of the call, the venue is empty, which is clear and tangible evidence that the local population has completely rejected the politics of chaos, preferring peace and development.

Kashmir Digital’s exclusive drone footage and the latest images received from Rawalakot show live views of the venue, where the absence of protesters and empty chairs is revealing the strength of the Action Committee’s claims.

All the plans to lure people to Rawalakot in the name of fundamental rights, to put pressure on state institutions through public crowds, and to create a front against the state by paralyzing the system have failed miserably, as conscious citizens have completely ignored the protest call and continued their daily economic activities.

Business activities are normal in Rawalakot and other cities

According to details, all commercial centers, shopping malls, and markets in Rawalakot, capital Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Kotli, and all other small and big cities remained open as usual since morning.

Public and private transport is plying on the roads while attendance in government and private offices and educational institutions has also been seen as usual, which has opened the floodgates for claims of a strike.

Tight security arrangements at sensitive places

To maintain law and order, the administration and police have made very tight security arrangements at Rawalakot and other sensitive places.

However, due to the peaceful atmosphere, no reports of any protest, forced closure of shops, or rioting were received from anywhere, and all business is going on without interruption.

Public reaction against chaos and the administration’s stance

Local traders and ordinary citizens, while discussing the situation, have made it clear that they are not in favor of any further chaos or economic loss in the region, as the region cannot afford any new unrest.

On the other hand, the state administration, while expressing satisfaction over the law and order situation, has made it clear that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands, and the safety of the lives and property of the citizens will be ensured at all costs.
