MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) Police has debunked rumours going viral on various social media websites, stating that they are totally baseless.
In a press release, the police said that a social media post had recently claimed that Kohala Road would be closed for all traffic from Monday, June 22, 2026, and advised people to avoid unnecessary travel. However, authorities clarified that no such restrictions had been imposed.
Police have confirmed that Kohala Road remains open for all kinds of traffic, and movement on the road is going on without any disturbance.
The spokesman said citizens who need to know about Kohala Road and other highways in AJK can contact the concerned authorities on official telephone numbers: 05822-930419 and 05822-930418.
The police added that the safety of lives and properties is always their topmost concern and asked the citizens to ignore baseless rumors going viral on social media platforms.
Police advised the citizens to seek information regarding roads and traffic in AJK only from official sources of the police and district administration.
