KOTLI (Kashmir English): Deputy Commissioner Kotli Raja Imran Shaheen has asked government employees to remain completely neutral during the elections in Azad Kashmir.
He vowed to hold peaceful, transparent, and impartial conduct of the general elections on July 27, 2026 in Mirpur Division.
An important meeting of heads of government departments was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kotli Raja Imran Shaheen to ensure the peaceful, and impartial conduct of the general elections and to strictly implement the code of conduct of the Election Commission.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police (SP) Adeel Ahmed Langrial, Municipal Mayor Chaudhry Muhammad Taj, along with heads of various district departments and relevant officers.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that during the general elections, it is a national responsibility for all government officers and employees to demonstrate complete neutrality and adhere to the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission at all costs.
He gave clear instructions that no government officer or employee should participate directly or indirectly in any electoral or political activity, nor should they allow any impression of support or opposition to any candidate or political party to be created.
The Deputy Commissioner said that heads of all departments should keep a close eye on their personal responsibilities as well as the activities of their subordinate staff so that no employee commits a violation of the code of conduct.
He said that the neutrality of government employees is being continuously monitored during the election process, therefore every officer should ensure that their department performs its duties with complete integrity, transparency, and responsibility in accordance with the constitution, law, and instructions of the Election Commission.

Raja Imran Shaheen urged all relevant institutions to play their full role in making the election process successful through mutual communication, cooperation, and effective coordination so that the public can have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote in a free, fair, and peaceful environment.
Addressing the meeting, SP Adeel Ahmed Langrial said that maintaining an atmosphere of peace and order during the general elections is the top priority.
He said that the police are fully prepared to establish law and order during the election process with all their professional capabilities, however, the cooperation of all government departments is essential to achieve this goal.
He said that conducting free, fair, and transparent elections is collective national responsibility, for which all institutions must fulfill their responsibilities with mutual cooperation and harmony.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a commitment was expressed that during the conduct of general elections 2026 in district Kotli, complete implementation of the Election Commission code of conduct, establishment of law and order, effective communication between institutions, and neutrality of government employees will be ensured at all costs so that the electoral process can be completed in a transparent, free, and peaceful manner.
