SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): Former Chief Minister of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K), Farooq Abdullah, has stated that Pakistan stands with the Kashmiris at every juncture and is ensuring their protection.
According to the Indian news agency ANI, while addressing a gathering in the Baramulla area of occupied Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah asked the audience, “Do you really expect the Delhi government to provide you with justice?”
He urged Kashmiris to unite for their rights, emphasizing that they must possess the courage to confront the (Indian) government and stand firm against it.
He warned that failing to do so would lead to their total erasure—wiping out their very existence, identity, and legacy, leaving no one to even remember them.
Farooq Abdullah noted that our neighbor (Pakistan) consistently advocates for the Kashmiri cause, raising the issue of Kashmir on every platform.
He credited Pakistan with safeguarding the Kashmiris, adding that the intentions of the Indian government are far from benign; they say one thing but act in complete contradiction to it.
The National Conference leader stressed the need for the courage to support the truth and remain steadfast in that commitment.
He acknowledged that speaking the truth is not easy, but asserted that without speaking the truth and standing firmly by it, their future can never be secure.
Meanwhile, the BJP has reacted sharply to Farooq Abdullah’s statement, demanding an apology.
Sat Sharma, the BJP president in occupied Kashmir, demanded that Farooq Abdullah apologize to the Indian people, labeling his remarks as unacceptable. He further remarked that if Abdullah harbors such deep affection for Pakistan, he should simply move there and settle down.
