ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Senior Journalist Mujtaba Butt has said that proscribed JAAC leaders including Umar Nazir Kashmiri, Sardar Aman, and Khawaja Mehran must surrender before the state.
These views were expressed by renowned anchor and Senior Journalist Mujtaba Butt while talking to Sadia Sharif Rathore in a program at Kashmir Digital.
Mujtaba Butt said, “If you gather 100-200 people in Eidgah Ground and deliver a speech, how can you say it a sit-in”.
He said that sit-ins and protests for public rights are the right of any nation, but when a group starts promoting its own interests and resorts to self-promotion under the guise of sit-ins and protests, it no longer remains a sit-in.
He said that today was the Foundation Day of Azad Kashmir, and posed a question if there was any single rally taken out by the banned Action Committee?
“On the other hand, the nation, on the occasion of Foundation Day, held seminars and ceremonies across Azad Kashmir.
Butt further said that the protest and sit-in of the banned Awami Action Committee started with demands for subsidies on flour, sugar, electricity and reached the point of chaos in Azad Kashmir.
He said that the government has accepted 99% of their demands. While constitutional matters, which include 12 seats for Jammu and Kashmir refugees, cannot be abolished under any circumstances nor can there be any talk on them, he added.
He said the issue of refugees seats is a constitutional matter. “If we abolish the seats for refugees, it will pave the way for weakening the Kashmir issue at the United Nations.”
He further added that in Azad Kashmir, negotiations with the banned organization are no longer an option, rather their elimination has become inevitable.
“There is a message for Umar Nazir Kashmiri, Sardar Aman, and Khawaja Mehran sitting in Rawalakot, to end the sit-in and surrender before the state. Only then talks could happen, otherwise.”
“JAAC receiving funding from abroad”
He said that recently, 8 miscreants of the banned Action Committee were caught with weapons from Kotli, while earlier in a podcast, Kashmiri leader Abdul Hamid Lone had revealed that the banned Action Committee is receiving funding from abroad and especially from India.
Senior Journalist Mujtaba Butt further stated that the people of Azad Kashmir are fed up with the sit-ins of the banned Action Committee, people are appealing to the Government of Azad Kashmir and the Prime Minister of Pakistan to get rid of them.
He further added that due to the chaos caused by the banned Action Committee in Azad Kashmir, all kinds of businesses are closed, people’s daily lives are affected, and students have been deprived of education. “The government should immediately corner them and provide relief to the public.”
Butt said that the time has wipe out the banned Action Committee from Azad Kashmir. “Enough is enough, groups of the banned Action Committee carried out operations and attacks against law enforcement agencies, many personnel were injured and martyred.”
He said that groups of the banned Action Committee are making bunkers in houses and attacking them, which has challenged the state writ. “The solution is not negotiations but a grand operation.”
He said that for the last five months, these people have held Rawalakot hostage. The public is no longer with them.
Butt revealed that in the coming few days, no organization by the name of banned Action Committee could be found in Azad Kashmir.
