MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court has suspended the appointments of five individuals allegedly recruited through a vague and non-transparent advertisement at the Kashmir Institute of Management Sciences (KIMS), until further orders.
Taking notice of the matter, the High Court has summoned the Secretary Services and the Director General of the Kashmir Institute of Management Sciences in-person to seek clarification regarding the recruitment process, the nature of the advertisement, and adherence to merit.
The petitioner had argued that the advertisement issued for the said recruitments lacked clear terms and procedures, which raised questions about transparency and expressed concerns about a violation of merit.
Appointments suspended
After the initial hearing, the court temporarily suspended the appointments and sought a detailed response from the concerned authorities.
The court stated that appointments in government institutions must be made with complete transparency, merit, and in accordance with legal requirements, adding any irregularity or ambiguity affects public trust.
Further hearing will take place on the next date, where the concerned officers will appear before the court and present their stance.
