MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The authorities have successfully negotiated with former Senator and Chairman Pakistan Rights Movement, Mushtaq Ahmad, the AJK government sources said.

Sources said that human rights activist Mushtaq Ahmed has withdrawn his decision to travel to Rawalakot, where the proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee has staged a sit-in protest, following discussions with the authorities. He is now expected to leave for Islamabad shortly.

Earlier on Monday, Mushtaq Ahmad announced that he will go to Rawalakot, Azad Kashmir, from Islamabad, carrying the “message of peace, security, unity, and harmony”.

In a post on X, Ahmed urged the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Azad Kashmir to immediately “implement the agreement of October 4, 2025”, with the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Action Committee, which the government claims to have more than 90 percent implemented.
