BHIMBER (Kashmir English): A grand ceremony was held at Govt Post-Graduate College in Bhimber, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to pay tribute to Jammu martyrs.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Ghulam Muhammad Safi was the chief guest on the occasion, while Hurriyat leaders Advocate Pervez Ahmed Shah, Imtiaz Ahmed Butt, Ghulam Hassan Malik, Abdul Majid, Khalid Shabbir, Abdul Rashid Butt, college principals and professors, and a large number of students also attended the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, the speakers said in November 1947, lakhs of Muslims were martyred by the Dogra army, Shiv Sena and RSS goons under the pretext of sending them to Pakistan and women were abducted and raped while innocent children were thrown into the Tawi River.
Rich tributes to Jammu martyrs
The speakers called it inhumane and a state-sponsored massacre. They paid rich tributes to all the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir, and reiterated their resolve to continue freedom struggle until the goal is achieved.
They expressed concern over the current situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and called upon the international community to play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
