MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Senior politician and former government minister Muhammad Hanif Awan aka Lala Hanif passed away due to a prolonged illness.
The funeral prayers of the deceased will be offered today, Tuesday, at 2:30 pm at the University Ground, Chehla Bandi in Muzaffarabad. Lala Hanif had been ill for a long time.
PTI Muzaffarabad Division has announced a three-day mourning period on the death of Awan and has also paid tribute to his services.
In a statement issued by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Azad Kashmir, it has been said that the entire Azad Kashmir, including Muzaffarabad Division, has lost a thoughtful and principled political leader.
The party leadership and all political and social workers equally share the grief of the son of the deceased, Chief Organizer of PTI Muzaffarabad Muhammad Saeed Awan Advocate, and all the family.
The party prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the deceased a high place in Jannah, make his final destination easy, and grant patience to the bereaved.
Political leaders have also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Awan.
Former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan said in his condolence message that he was deeply saddened to hear the news of Hanif Awan’s death.
The void created by the death of Hanif Awan will not be filled for a long time. The valuable political and social services of the deceased will be remembered for a long time, he said.
