Woman denied bail for looting people posing as lift-seeker

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The District Criminal Court Mirpur rejected bail to a female accused Shazia Younis alias Koko Jan in a case of looting people posing as lift-seeker.

The accused, according to police, is involved in serious crimes including robbing strangers who offered her a ride.

The accused had previously filed a bail application in the Additional Tehsil Criminal Court No. 2 Mirpur, which was rejected on May 6, 2025.

Lawyers presented detailed arguments, and the court declared the accused’s bail application inadmissible and dismissed it.

The woman allegedly used to seek lift from strangers, mixing intoxicating medicine in water to make passengers unconscious, and then depriving them of their cash, mobile phones, and other valuables before fleeing.

Woman belongs to Mandi Bahauddin

The accused belongs to Mandi Bahauddin while she was residing in Peshawar.

According to the police, she was arrested from Mirpur in March 2025 and is currently imprisoned in Central Jail.

According to police sources, the accused and her family have been declared proclaimed offenders in Punjab, and dozens of cases are pending against her in various districts of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
