MIRPUR (Kashmir English): In a crackdown on elements allegedly involved in spreading negative propaganda on social media, Mirpur Police rounded up four accused during the last 24 hours, police said.
Cases have been registered against the accused, according to the police spokesperson.
Mirpur Police has started a crackdown against those involved in spreading negative propaganda against national security institutions, the police spokesman said on Sunday.
Mirpur Police took action against such elements across the district and arrested four people including Khursheed Ahmed arrested by Police Station Dadial, Mazhar Iqbal arrested by Police Station Islamgarh, Tayyab Sheikh arrested by Police Station Thothal and Azhar Qabaal nabbed by Chowki Jatlan, for sharing negative propaganda and defamatory posts against national security institutions on social media, the spokesperson said.

An operation by police is underway against such elements across the district. SSP Mirpur Khawar Ali Shaukat has issued orders to the police stations to take stringent action against such mischievous elements.
The District Police Chief emphasised that the public should not be a part of any such negative activity in the current situation and avoid posting and commenting against the state functionaries.
