LAHORE (Kashmir English): Maya Khan, a well-known television actress of the Pakistan showbiz industry, revealed an easy way to lose weight at home without much effort and struggle.
Maya Khan participated in a private TV comedy program, during which the host asked, what would you say about some people losing weight by working hard and taking some medicines?
In reply, Maya Khan said that I had decided to lose weight, and when I decide on something, I do it. The actress said that it took me four to five years to lose weight. When I went to America, my weight increased again, and then I controlled it.
She said that it was a matter of intention; I just had to lose weight. Maya Khan said that I was taunted a lot. People used to call me a buffalo and a burden on the earth, so it made a difference at that time, but now people’s words have no effect.
The actress said, “My mother always told me, no matter what happens, your nerves must stay strong. There is no need to become a sensitive ‘touch-me-not’ plant.”
Maya Khan said that she followed a healthy diet and lost 8 kilograms in 22 days in 2020.
During the show, she discussed sensationalism in Ramzan transmissions. She also shared views on Veena Malik’s viral “Astaghfar” clip from an old Ramzan show.
Maya Khan said the main reason behind such content is the budget attached to it. Channels often pay more for sensational moments that attract views and headlines.
She said hosts should maintain professionalism. A host is known for hosting, and that identity should remain clear.
She added that many actors now appear as Ramzan show hosts. Producers often give them budgets to create sensational segments. That, she said, leads to such content on television.
Maya Khan also pointed to another issue in the industry. She said actors often do not receive strong payments for regular work. Many also do not get royalties when dramas are re-run on television.
Because of this situation, she said, some actors accept hosting offers during Ramzan transmissions. These shows sometimes push them toward sensational content to boost ratings.
She added that she hopes actors receive better opportunities and fair payments. If that happens, they will not need to host shows that rely on sensationalism for attention.
