NEW YORK (Kashmir English): An American startup has introduced a T-shirt, which the company claims can stay fresh for up to one month without a single wash.
The company said the HercShirt V5.0 can be worn every day for 30 days without developing an unpleasant smell or requiring washing.
The claim may appear difficult to believe, particularly during the summer when high temperatures cause people to sweat more than usual.
The makers said they used seven materials to keep the shirt free from odour. These include copper, silver, zinc, gold, volcanic ash and two undisclosed ingredients, adding that these materials are built into the fabric fibers rather than applied to the surface.
The company said the copper helps prevent the growth of odour causing bacteria, zinc neutralises sulphur compounds produced by sweat, and volcanic ash absorbs moisture and outside odours.
According to the company, the HercShirt remains fresh for more than a month despite regular use adding the shirt lasts longer than ordinary T-shirts because it requires far less washing.

The HercShirt V5.0 is priced at $79 dollars as shipping is due to begin in early November. The shirt will first be available in black, with navy blue, burgundy and dark green versions planned for release later.
