WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): Right before Trump cancelled strikes on Iran, he reportedly got on the phone with the Pakistanis, who are mediating with Tehran.

This was stated by Mario Nawfal, a Lebanese-Australian entrepreneur, business influencer, podcast host, and political commentator.

In a post on X, he said the Pakistanis told him [Trump] straight up: “We have a deal.”

“Trump got a direct assurance”

“Which means, Trump didn’t just wake up and declare victory. He got a direct assurance.”

“Whether that “deal” actually exists or is another layer of Iranian delay tactics is the real question.”

This whole thing is being held together by backchannel promises and hope, he added.

In a subsequent post on X, he said: “An Iranian source close to the negotiation team apparently flat-out denies any memorandum of understanding with the U.S. has been approved”.

“This directly contradicts Trump’s Truth Social post claiming Iran agreed to a text at the highest level.”

“The “deal” Trump announced back by Tehran before the ink is even dry. Classic case of Trump getting ahead of himself while Iran plays games.”

On top of that, an Israeli official just said: “We have no knowledge of a deal, and are puzzled that Iran’s leadership approved of one.”

Nawfal further said the gap between the posts and reality is massive. “This thing is far from done.”
