RIYADH (Kashmir English): The Saudi Arabian and Pakistani Ministries of Religious Affairs have imposed strict medical regulations for Hajj 2026, under which sick or weak people will not be allowed to perform Hajj.

According to the new rules, only those pilgrims who are in perfect basic health and meet the prescribed standards will be able to perform Hajj.

According to media reports, even if a sick person reaches Saudi Arabia, he will be immediately sent back to his homeland, and all the expenses of repatriation will be borne by the pilgrim himself.

A ministry spokesperson said that people suffering from kidney disease, dialysis patients, heart diseases, severe neurological or psychiatric diseases, memory impairment, dementia, Alzheimer’s, tremors, and severe disabilities will not be able to participate in Hajj 2026.

In addition, there will be a complete ban on Hajj for pregnant women, whooping cough, tuberculosis, viral hemorrhagic fever, and cancer patients.

The ministry added that the final decision on the fitness certificate of all Hajj pilgrims will be made by a medical officer, and special monitoring teams established in Saudi Arabia will also verify the validity of the certificates.

The ministry clarified that these regulations are necessary for the safety of pilgrims so that no medical emergencies arise during Hajj.
