VENEZUELA (Kashmir English): US President Trump made a major announcement in which he said that when President Nicolas Maduro and the First Lady are arrested, the matters in Venezuela shall be handled by America.
Speaking at a press conference on the extraordinary US military operation in Venezuela, US President Donald Trump said: “At my order, a historic operation took place in the heart of Caracas, with ground, air, and maritime routes.”
Donald Trump stated that within the military operation, 45 American troops were involved in extracting Nicolás Maduro, along with his wife, from the Venezuelan capital, Caracas. He stated that the USA had conducted a similar mission recently in Iran, and that power had been turned off within the Venezuelan capital, Caracas.
The President of the US stated that Nicolás Maduro and his wife are currently in custody and would be tried in New York.
He also continued that he pays respect to the military for the successful completion of the operation that happened last night. As per him, the US is being respected in the whole world today. He added that it seemed that Nicolás Maduro was waiting for the US forces because he had learned that the US naval fleet was closer.
Discussing the photograph taken after the arrest of Maduro, Donald Trump told journalists that they knew how Venezuela’s president was dressed. He added that no US soldier or US military facility was hurt in the process. Additionally, no US soldier died or was killed either.
He stated that “97 percent of the drugs that come into the United States are being shipped through Venezuela via the sea routes.”
The US president stated that Venezuela’s business would be run by the United States; this is where the United States would temporarily run the administration of Venezuela. The president added that a peaceful transfer of power in Venezuela would be welcomed by the US, many Venezuelan citizens who are living in the United States would want toreturn to Venezuela, and no one would be allowed to oppress the Venezuelan people.
He said that a smooth transfer of power would be ensured. In his statement, he said that there would be no need for another attack on Venezuela, but that the US is ready, and that if the need arises, another attack would be conducted. In addition, the US would fulfill its role regarding the stability of the region.
In further statements, Donald Trump said that the aim of the mission was to bring dictator Maduro before justice, and that they would appear before the US court, as they have evidence of the crimes they perpetrated.
The US president stated that Maduro, being a dictatorial president, had continually conducted violence and terrorism against the US, and that control in Venezuela will remain in the US until the transfer of power.
He stated that those who pose threats to US security should be aware of this operation and that any security threats will be met with a strong US response. He stated that through the operation, the Venezuelan citizens are finally freed from a dictator.
