Rawalakot police operation martyr Gulfraz Mushtaq laid to rest in Bhimber

RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): Police officer Gulfraz Mushtaq Shaheed, who was martyred in Rawalakot, Azad Kashmir, was laid to rest with full state honors at his native place, Kahani Peel Bhimber, after the funeral prayers.

A police contingent presented a guard of honor, whereas other funeral attendants showered flowers on the grave of the martyr.  Most Senior Colonel Waqar Ahmed Noor, IG Police, DIG Police, Deputy Commissioner, SSP, placed flowers on the grave of the martyr.

Government Minister Chaudhry Arshad Hussain attended the funeral prayers representing the government of Azad Kashmir, whereas special flowers were sent from Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Chaudhary Anwarul Haq.

Talking to the media after the funeral prayers, Government Minister Chaudhry Arshad Hussain said that Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq and the entire cabinet salute the greatness of the martyr.

Shaheed Gulfraz is our pride. Before that, we also salute the sacrifices of the Pakistani forces. Salute to the Field Marshal, Salute to the martyrs, the entire nation is with the martyr, the minister added.

Moreover, he stated that the government is providing full compensation to the martyrs and the injured. Commissioner Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain, DIG Dr. Liaquat Hussain, Colonel Akbar, Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Haq Nawaz, SSP Chaudhry Muhammad Amin, and top civil and military officials were present at the funeral prayer.

Everyone was in tears. Hundreds of people met the martyr’s father, Chaudhry Mushtaq, and his family. Prayers were offered for the martyr’s elevation and patience for all the bereaved families.

A large number of people from all schools of thought, including top government officials, military officials, political and social figures, municipal representatives, lawyers, journalists, local people, close relatives and friends, and people from all schools of thought, participated in the funeral prayer.

When the martyr’s body was brought to Bhimber from Rawalakot, a grand welcome was also given in the city after the Bhimber entry points. Flower garlands were sprinkled and saluted to the martyr’s greatness.

The body was transferred to the martyr’s house with official honors in the presence of police magistrates.

When the mortal remains of martyred Gulfraz Mushtaq were brought to Bhimber, people from all schools of thought greeted him at various places. Former senior minister of the Azad Kashmir government, Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, and former minister of the government, Chaudhry Parvez Ashraf, reached the house of the martyr and consoled the family of the martyr.

Commissioner Mirpur Division Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain, Deputy Commissioner Bhimber Chaudhry Haq Nawaz, and SSP Bhimber Chaudhry Muhammad Amin paid tribute to the martyred policeman Gulfraz Mushtaq and said that the mortal remains of Shaheed Gulfraz Mushtaq were brought with full official honors.

Earlier last night, the Azad Kashmir Police conducted a major operation against terrorists in the forests of Rawalkot, resulting in the killing of four terrorists. During the operation, two police personnel were martyred and five others were injured.

The terrorists were linked to Fitna-ul-Kharij, a network led by a terrorist, Dr Rauf, who is based in Afghanistan and indoctrinates youth towards extremism.

He said that these terrorists were planning to carry out attacks against defense installations, public offices, and government officials in Azad Kashmir. Despite their presence in Azad Kashmir for the past three months, these terrorists could not take any action, he added.

The police chief added that there were reports of two suicide bombers planning to carry out attacks in the next 2 to 4 days, but timely action by the police foiled their plans.
