MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Muzaffarabad district administration has officially declared a public holiday in two important constituencies within the district limits in view of the general elections to the Legislative Assembly.
As per the official order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad, a public holiday will be observed on August 4, 2026, in the limits of LA-27 Muzaffarabad-1 and LA-28 Muzaffarabad-2.
The notification issued by the district administration has clarified that the general elections to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and the suspended polling process are being held in these two constituencies on August 4.
A holiday has been decided to ensure a peaceful, transparent and uninterrupted election process as well as to facilitate citizens in exercising their right to vote, so that voters can reach their respective polling stations without any difficulty.
In the orders issued by the Deputy Commissioner, all relevant sectors and government and private institutions have been directed to ensure the implementation of these instructions, so that the Election Commission staff and security agencies get full support in transporting election materials and maintaining law and order.
