LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been compelled to make late adjustments to the Shaheens team, which is set to leave for Darwin today to play the 2025 Top End T20 Series.
Following recent developments surrounding Haider Ali, the middle-order batter has now been excluded from the original squad, with Mohammad Faiq being brought in as his replacement.
In the meantime, right-arm pacer Mohammad Wasim Jr has been inducted into the 15-man squad, replacing left-arm pacer Salman Mirza.
Though the PCB has not revealed the reason for Salman’s ouster, his shining performances against Bangladesh appear to indicate his fate might be with the national side, rather than Pakistan’s A team.
Pakistan Shaheens, captained by Muhammad Irfan Khan, will be taking part in the 11-franchise tournament, to be held from August 14 to 24 in Australia’s Northern Territory. They play their first game against Bangladesh ‘A’ on Wednesday night.

The Shaheens’ tour is another chance for Pakistan’s rising stars to face quality competition away from home conditions.
The competition has a combination of international ‘A’ teams, Big Bash League teams, and developing teams from the region, and for some players, the tournament would also be a stepping stone to full international honors.
