ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced a temporary suspension of its services at all its 68 registration centres situated in various cities of Pakistan, as there are problems with satellite connectivity.
It further added that “satellite communication services will not be available on Thursday, July 9, 2026, i.e., between 8:00 am and 9:30 am for Technical reasons,” so during this time period all the services of NADRA will be suspended at satellite-linked centres which are working in remote areas of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Balochistan & KPK.
“NADRA apologises for the inconvenience caused to the citizens and advises its visitors to plan their visits after the restoration of satellite connectivity,” says an official statement by NADRA.
The list includes 23 offices in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 7 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 16 in Balochistan and 22 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (including Citizen Facilitation Centres and NADRA registration offices functioning in remote regions).
New digital pension verification system
The federal government of Pakistan said today that they are launching a brand-new mobile verification system for pensioners connected with NADRA.
This move would mark a crucial step towards establishing a digital pension system where payments would be verified using biometric and facial recognition checks done by NADRA.
Around 1.7 million pensioners could be affected under these proposals, according to reports.
They would need to check that their ‘proof of life’ status is confirmed using the Pak ID mobile app run by NADRA.
