MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The government of Azad Kashmir has announced an indefinite extension of the closure of madrasas (religious seminaries) across the region. This decision comes after an initial 10-day closure order issued on April 30.

The government of Azad Kashmir has extended the closure of madrassas indefinitely, following an initial 10-day shutdown that began on 30 April. The new notification, issued without specifying an end date, keeps all madrassas closed until further notice, though no explicit reasons were provided for the extension.

This decision continues the temporary suspension first implemented last month, with authorities circulating the updated order to all affected institutions.

Previously the madrassas were shut down due to the escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, that started after India attacked Pakistan, unprovoked, with missiles.
