ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Air Force Day is being celebrated across the country today with national enthusiasm and spirit. On this occasion, tributes are being paid to the falcons of the Pakistan Air Force who made unparalleled sacrifices for the country’s freedom, sovereignty, and defense of its borders.
On the occasion of Air Force Day, the brilliant performance of the Pakistan Air Force during the 1965 war and its historic role in national defense are being specially remembered.
During the war, the falcons of the Pakistan Air Force demonstrated their professionalism and air superiority against the enemy.
On this occasion, the historical feat of Squadron Leader MM Alam is also of special importance. MM Alam shot down several enemy warplanes during a single air battle. He is remembered for his unique feat of destroying four Indian planes in just 30 seconds.
On the other hand, a solemn ceremony was also held at the mausoleum of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed, who was awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, where tributes were paid to him.
The special guest, Air Officer Commanding Southern Air Command, Air Vice Marshal Akhtar Imran Saduzai, visited the mausoleum of Rashid Minhas Shaheed, offered Fateha and laid a wreath.
The Pakistan Air Force’s valiant contingent also saluted the immortal sacrifice of Rashid Minhas Shaheed. His bravery and sacrifice for the defense of the homeland are still a beacon of light for the nation today.
