MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Law enforcement agencies conducted a raid on the residence of Khawaja Mehran, a core committee member of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), in the Dedial area of Mirpur, following reports of suspicious activities.

During the search, the Law enforcement agencies recovered a drone, a 12-bore gun and bullets, a pistol, four USBs, a laptop, an Islamabad police helmet, and other items from his house.

Mehran’s employee, whose name is Shahid Aslam, said that when Khawaja Mehran left for the sit-in, he had ordered two ambulances to his house, where he transports his weapons, etc.

The employee said that before leaving, he had four to five Kalashnikovs, two 12-bore guns, countless boxes of bullets, and, in addition, stones and broken glass bottles, slingshots, and two packets full of money that Latif Dar had brought to him, and two kilos of hashish.

Khawaja Mehran took with him the shelling recovered from the police. The guns that they had snatched from the police during the long march on September 29 at the Plak Bridge location were all taken to Rawalakot in some ambulances.

In addition, the employee said that when he was here, all these weapons and these things were available at home, and he had six to seven notorious robbers and people from the narcotics mafia with him, who were assigned to protect him.
